Corpus Christi will be joining St. Pius X Catholic Church in celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation, for those in high school, in May 2012. It will be held on Saturday, May 19that St. Pius X at 7:00pm. Serra Club with information, eligibility, and deadlines for their ANNUAL ESSAY CONTEST. Young people in Catholic Schools and parish religious education programs are eligible to participate, with different essay questions for intermediate grades, junior high, and high school youth.
All essays are to be written (not typed) in the student's own handwriting and should be neat in appearance. Make sure the students name, grade, and parish are on the essay.
Essays should be submitted to Anita Timpani, Director of Youth Ministry and Co-Leader of Faith Formation, by March 28, 2012 so they can be delivered by March 31, 2012.
SENIOR YOUTH GROUP (SYG) 9-12th grade For all teens in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Cover current issues, Church events, Church history, catechism, fellowship, stewardship, service projects, personal faith growth, leadership, prayer, and catholic identity as a way of life.
Each evening: opening prayer, opening song, games, Scripture reflection, snack, a rotating topic to discuss each week, with a closing prayer!
SYG meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm in the Community Center at Corpus Christi.
JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP (JYG) 6-8th grade For all teens in 6th-8th graders. Focuses on individual identity in relation to current events, church teachings, Church history, fellowship, catechism, stewardship, leadership, Catholic identity, and personal faith de-velopment.
Each evening: opening prayer, opening song, games, Scripture reflection, snack, a rotating topic to discuss each week, with a closing prayer!
